The 2011/2012 Betting Thread

Postby Phil Collins » Thu Aug 04, 2011 10:00 am

New season, new thread et al. Post any free bet offers about and everything, can only imagine there'll be a few.

Did my season league winners accy about a month back

Man United
Cardiff (LOL)
Huddersfield
Crawley
Barcelona

£5 pays just over £8k. Ah.

Checking the top scorer markets in the Championship, best value personally is an E/W bet on on Mackail Smith who you can at 16s at most places. Nolan E/W at 25s could be worth a punt, will pull the strings at West Ham, and Carlton Cole will probably leave/is shit.

Carrying on from last season, the weekly £1 bet that will put me virtually £46 down is Promotion Winning Preston/Nugent FGS. Shit value at 9/1, then again, promotion winners et al.

forest (dunno what i was thinking)
brentford
bristol rovers

basically, need them all to come top 3 for a payout

Yeah, i can never really be arsed with season long bets. International tournaments are fine but a bet lasting an entire season? Nahhhhhhhhhhh.

Think i'll just stick to the weekend accumulators this season. Quite tempted by this lot at the moment:

Coventry v Leicester
Nott'm Forest v Barnsley
Reading v Millwall
West Ham v Cardiff
Walsall v Leyton Orient

I'd fancy Orient will get something at Walsall, but would back the rest... Saving my weekend accumlator decision for Friday afternoon.

Can't see much worth going for this weekend, maybe Ipswich at Bristol City, Chopra loves scoring against them and the shitheads can't defend for toffee.

Yeah, season long bets are boring, except when you win that is/ Barcelona league and Champs league double set again for this year, all though I for some fucking reason got caught up in the hype and had Micheal Owen as top goal scorer in the PL.... I should of had my William Hill account taken off me there and then.

Someone I know won £3k odd off a quid for getting all the league winners and Man City to get the FA Cup. Certainly not bad by any means.

Actually might chuck a tenner on Hereford this weekend, bankers.

Thats the only worry. I backed him last season as top scorer and if he had a 1st half of the season at all he would of walked it.

I think he'll be up there, then again I'm doing my utmost to not bet on us bar the bet above. I'll save enough money to buy a house, hah

Opening weekend then:

TORQUAY vs Burton
BRENTFORD vs Yeovil
HUDDERSFIELD vs Bury
FOREST vs Barnsley
BURNLEY vs Watford
BRIGHTON vs Donny

Tenner pays near on £300 - though I fully expect Watford to win, as every time I bet on their games last season, the result went the other way

Shoved 35 quid on Man Utd and West Ham to win leagues and super Hooper to be top scorer in SPL. returns about £2200

Had 3 quid trebles on
Brizzle vs Ipswich
Reading vs Millwall
Oldham vs Sheff Utd
Shrews vs Plymouth

all to be draws

Going to start picking out 3 results and having a 50p trixie on them this season. Don't know whether to pick same teams and same scores or to mix things up every week.
