I've watched all three of Liverpool's pre season games in the US, and Adam looks lost in Rodgers 4-3-3 style. He hit about 30 hollywood cross field passes in the first game, despite everyone else seemingly keeping the ball on the floor.
Apparently he's worth £10 mill for his dead ball delivery alone
Shoddyrob wrote:Apparently Charlie Adam's injured Gareth Bale again in a friendly, such a horrible cunt. I wonder what his problem with Bale is
Lovely Andriy retiring probably warrants a mention too. He'll be missed
Adam is such a meathead. How much did Liverpool spend on him?
Given the political problems in Ukraine, it'll be interesting to see how well Shevchenko does running for politics.
£7m I think, at one point it looked like he was going to cost more so it could've been worse but he's just not good enough
I hope he does well, it'd be great and surreal to see him as Prime Minister

Yeah, it's really frustrating. That previous challenge on Bale was horrible and fairly typical of him, seriously nasty wanker

Wouldn't be surprised if someone in the Prem signs him soon ala El Hadji Diouf in the World Cup. Hopefully he won't turn out to be complete balls and an absolute twat like him though.
Went along to the double header yesterday. Senegal vs Uruguay was very entertaining, was very impressed by Pape Soare, the marauding right-back. Booing Luis Suarez was also great, particularly as he had a really shite game.
GB vs UAE wasn't as good a game, took us a while to get going. It was a sweet chip from Daniel Sturridge, would be very please if Tottenham bought him this window. Joe Allen and Tom Cleverley looked sharp and incisive, and Jack Butland looks to be everything he's been built up to be. Steven Caulker had a cracking game - all the more important as James Tomkins looked unbelievably out of his depth. It was also great to get a cameo appearance from my mate from Sixth Form, Southampton's Jack Cork.
Sturridge looked shit apart from the goal. His touch has completely deserted him. Plus I remember all the 'I'm a striker, not a winger' stuff that happened last time under Villas-Boas, which makes me think he's a penis too. The dominance of Britain just before the UAE goal was hilarious. It must have been near enough 80-90% possession in the 5-10 mins beforehand. That Kalil guy looked really good though. Looked quick, strong and had a decent strike on him.
Cavani looked completely anonymous yesterday, which is strange considering it should be him and Suarez running that team.

Didn't see the hype behind Gaston Ramirez either, he looked extremely average. Sebastien Coates was hilariously bad too, the defending for Konate's first was dreadful.
I heard a bit of a post-match interview with Sturridge and he was saying he's still not at 100% physically after having meningitis recently, I'm not his biggest fan when he is fit but that'll at least partly explain it if he's looked poor this tournament
Uruguay have looked shit from what I've seen of them, really disappointing
I also went to the double-header at Wembley yesterday. Uruguay just didn't turn up, I can't believe how disappointing they were. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the atmosphere was and the fact that GB weren't THAT bad, definitely an improvement on their first game.
After all the controversy about long queues etc it took us all of five minutes to get in through security, was very impressed. Total nightmare with the queues for refreshments between games though, felt sorry for the parents trying to get food for their kids cause the staff seemed totally unprepared.
Id be very surprised if Carroll went to West Ham. Now Aqualani has all but gone it seems Liverpool are after Dempsey again. Is he injured or is that lack of fitness a load of bull?

The catering was an absolute shambles. Queued up the entire way through the break, only to find that they'd run out of everything. Managed to get a crap hotdog about 20 mins into the first half. Drastically undercatered - even if there's 25% wastage, they'd have made a shitload more if they'd had enough stock.
Hmmm, Arsenal still haven't sold Bentdner, Arshavin, Walcott or Van Persie. High hopes for this summer.
Wenger said that Bendtner, Squillaci and Park will all have gone soon, it's unlike him to be so specific so I'd assume their deals are nearly done. I hope we find out one day what the Park transfer was all about, there's obviously more to it. He hasn't sat down with Arshavin yet, I'd assume that's happening this week. His wife doesn't want to leave London though apparently. I doubt Walcott'll go, all this stalling's just his agents trying to get the best deal they can for him. Pretty shitty on his/their part though, no other manager would have been as patient with him as Wenger has.
I assume Walcott also has one eye on Podolski/Ox/Gervinho all providing competition for a wide 3 spot. If he's going to sit on the bench anywhere it might as well be Chelsea earning more money, plus his agent is Darren Dean. Fabregas, Henry, Nasri, Van Persie are all his players, now Song is to and oh look, Song is refusing to sign any of the contracts offered to him whilst making the eyes at Barcalona.
Park was just a gamble wasn't it? I keep reading people mention "the whole truth", the "actual truth" etc. He was a last minute bargain type gamble that couldn't really go wrong - we'll recoup what we paid for him easily enough, all we've lost is his small (in comparison) wages - he could have turned out to be really good. The one goal he did score was lovely anyway, I assume his failure has more to do with his temperament/application than talent.

They ran out of food where I was in between the games. Luckily I was being a lad and only needing to buy drinks, but everyone was kicking off at the lack of being able to pay £8.50 for some fish and chips. It was ridiculous as well because there was shit loads of chips, but no fish cooked, but they couldn't even give people chips without the fish because McDonalds has the monopoly on them. Which is even more ridiculous because McDonalds don't even sell proper chips. There were some official looking Dutch people in the queue in front of us, boredom led to us googling them to see who they were. Turned out they were part of some catering management company and were live tweeting pictures of the queues and saying that it was a shit show!

Yeah, he's got 59 international caps and came from Monaco so I don't think he's like Bebe or anything, it's just a transfer that hasn't worked out. It is strange that he hasn't been given a chance though
I think Arsenal have had a decent summer so far, Podolski and Giroud look like they should be good signings, last I read it looked like Sahin joining on loan was pretty much done and Cazorla seems to be a real possibility. He should be a great signing if they manage it
