Home phone/internet contract question

Postby pennyroyal_teea » Mon Jul 09, 2012 9:33 pm

So I'm currently with TalkTalk for home phone and broadband and have been with them since approximately October 2010. However in July 2011 I moved to a different flat and at the time was told when I moved it would begin a new contract with them. I moved again on November 2011 and I was told the same thing.
I am now due to move again sometime near the end of August (before 31st). This would be fine and dandy if I wasn't moving to a house with internet and all that already provided.
My question is, is there any way I can get out of this without paying some silly fees or that?
I considered contacting our letting agent in Chester and inquiring about leaving the line in here and changing the name on the account but the people that move in may not be keen to go with TalkTalk or have their own existing provider which they'll transfer over.

Help.
Cheers

The best thing to do is ring them and find out - when they say "a new contract" they might have meant a fresh 12 month contract or that you were just technically agreeing to a new contract on existing terms.
