"anarcho-punkers"

Not how I'd describe AFI personally! Still one of the best records...

if anyone is wondering why there's stupid characters in there, it's because the old site's reviews are on a different character set to the current one. new site relaunch will change that, blah blah.

Good album, but desperately lacking Davey Havok's trademark 'oh's

ah, quoting out of context.

the phrase was "goth-hardcore-emo-anarcho-punkers" - which is clearly dosed with at least a touch of sarcasm.

AFI were polarising that far back? Did not know this. This was probably my favourite album in 2002/3ish.

They toured this album, saw them play the Vic Inn in Derby to about 150 odd people along with Stampin Ground and AKO. Fond memories.

One of my least favourite AFI albums but still a great album

Given how much attention this review's got just for resurfacing by fluke, how about a run of reappraisals or some deliberate re-runs of reviews of albums from early on in PT's lifespan? There's the nostalgia element and also it's interesting to see how bands have progressed in the interim, AFI ended up on a major label off the back of this one. Just a thought.

our new spotify app will actually be quite handy for rediscovery of old review, but we're not really equipped to dig back through loads of stuff at the moment.

How easy was it to develop with? I've literally been approved for Dev access to Spotify, I'm quite keen to try it out!

we've been using jQuery and Ajax, it's pretty standard web app stuff - the hardest bit is working with the Spotify JS library to be honest as quite a bit of it isn't immediately obvious.

we've had our app concept approved but we've held back on submitting because of the changes we're making to Punktastic at the moment.
