I was trying to post in the New Star Soccer thread, and linked two images from my photobucket but every time I tried to post, I got the following error: http://i.imgur.com/QmvIG.jpgTaking out the IMG tags allowed me to post fine but just through I'd let you know of the error.

I get the error quite a bit, it's nothing to do with posting images - if you had of clicked refresh it would have just worked.
I suspect there is a limit to the number of concurrent mysql connections on the new server and periodically the board is active enough to exceed that.

I've got a feeling this is something our server guy knows about. I'll let him know that it's happening again. Wouldn't really know how to fix it myself tbh

I just found it weird as I had managed to post elsewhere, just not that thread (I tried about 3 times, kudos stylee) and then when I took the IMG tags out it worked.

Well yes, if it's busy it's not just going to be busy for a second. It is just co-incidence, trust up.

Hedges, I had the same problem and it only ever happens when I'm trying to post an image. It won't even let you preview the post. Take away the image, preview it, works fine. Put the image back in and it's fucked again. It seems to happen with big images or when you try to post more than one, but that could be voodoo.

This forum ( http://www.sw-pc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=14579" target="_blank) had the exact same SQL error when posting images and like I thought it seems to be when posting multiple images (or one with a large file size). They fixed it by increasing the mysql wait_timeout. Another forum with the same SQL error when posting images: http://www.northwestbikers.net/forum/in ... -pictures/" target="_blank And another: http://www.kofk.de/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=35193" target="_blank I think it times out when receiving larger image files from another server so this could also depend on how fast or slow the image host that's being linked to is. Either way, increasing the wait_timeout seems to fix it. But I'd run that past "<3" the database expert first.

I'm not totally sure, but I think you're worse than Waltz and Andy Pud put together.

I only posted here to say to Hedges that I had the same problem and that it also only occurred for me with images. Then you take a cheap shot at my diet just like you've done before. So who's the cunt?

1) I don't think you realise how little I care. 2) I didn't take a cheap shot at your diet, I took a cheap shot at you going on about it with such fervent zealousness. Notice it got a lol - that's because it was funny. 3) I'm certainly not suggesting I'm the only one who can be right, you may well be right about images - but it's not affected me at all (see earlier post) though it has when I haven't been posting images, so it's definitely not just an image posting problem. Two of our customers run PHPBB boards and on both occasions they had similar problems because I'd forgotten to increase the number of permissable connections. 4) I'm a scream.
