I watched deja vu... couldn't shake the feeling I'd seen it before
haha, definitely have to crack this next time i watch it.

What if you had to tell someone the most important thing in the world, but you knew they wouldnt believe you? That was meant to be a joke, im not creepily wanting to exchange movie quotes.
Yes, but I think I might watch a film later on, so if you post about that, I'll definitely be worried.

Watched Hobo with a shotgun last night. Absolutely incredible. So bad, it's bloody great. More of this please.

It was Shaun of the Dead. Having twice watched it to about the halfway point, I thought it was about time I watched the whole thing. I would say I enjoyed it more than I expected, but that was my reaction a few years ago when I first watched the first half. So I'll just stick with I enjoyed it.

The first blu-ray I watched was Casino Royale and I was pretty wow'd by it. Other ones that look good: Blood Diamond, The Departed, Inception, Up, Hugo, Inglourious Basterds, No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, I Am Legend, The Dark Knight. Oh and Planet Earth.

Recently I watched Hellraiser for the first time. Although it is short on scares, it makes up for that in some amazing gore and really nasty effects. Plus it's brilliantly acted and directed. It's got a great haunting feel to it. Was really impressed and ashamed that it's taken me so long to see it.
Immediately following that I watched Chatroom which had one good idea, that of presenting the internet as a physical space, but little else. Never really got to care about any of the characters which a film like that heavily relies upon to work.

Get on Hellbound: Hellraiser II. It's a stone cold horror classic.

Cheers for the suggestions! The first one to arrive on blu-ray along with my blu-ray player was The Dark Knight. The one incredibly anoying thing is that Nolan made sure the blu-ray release was the imax version of the film. So the the aspect ratio changes throughout the movie. Other than that there blu-rays are the way forward. I thought the difference was hyped, but its not is fantastic!
Im chuffed, a £30 blu-ray player with a usb port that plays .mkv's aswell. HEAVEN!!!

The blu-ray player was from Curry's "jubilee" sales : http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-blur ... st14683898I think Richer sounds might have some left instore though at the same price, if their is one near you.

I really can't justify the purchase of a blu ray player just so I can buy one movie though...
Buy the entire Arrow collection then. It's the only sensible thing to do. Plus there's awesome releases from the US like Intruder and Thou Shalt Not Kill... Except which work over here.
I definitely don't need to own Faust or Beyond Re-Animator on blu. Or even The Card Player or Do You Like Hitchcock. That uncut version of Intruder is amazing. I have no idea where I would put blu rays, my dvds take up a load of space.
How do you get a collection like this? I've got maybe a tenth of that and I'm always unsure if I'm buying doubles

I have a spreadsheet ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... DczV1JXWkE) which I can get to on my phone easily enough, but I still occasionally pick up doubles. It's fine though, because it's 95% secondary market so I grab stuff pretty cheap unless it's some of the rarer shit. I recently bought Cujo and got home to realise it was a double. I can swap it with other collectors or just give it away if I need to. My collection would have been bigger but I had to buy a shitload more when I broke with the ex that I mentioned in the LLR thread (didn't see eye to eye on movies) and she kept a shit ton of movies when we broke up. I usually buy between 10 and 25 a month so that keeps it ticking over nicely.

HMV's website for £11. Showing as out of stock at the moment though, which is unfortunate as they're doing 20% off blu-rays this weekend.

The star wars boxset is another excellent transfer (apart from episode 1, but the original trilogy is awesome) if you can get over the daft changes, also along with the alien boxset, two great investments!

Really? I thought the transfer was pretty bad throughout all 6 and very very bad in places. Sound wise it is exceptional but the picture quality isn't something I would use to show off blu-ray

has anyone watched jurassic park on blu ray? i watched it on a blu ray projector and it appeared to be quite poor. going to try it on my own tv, hopefully will be better somehow.
my favourites on blu ray so far are sunshine, saving private ryan and the guardian.

Does the Star Wars blu-ray still have Gweedo shooting first and shit CGI aliens superimposed everywhere? In fact, is there any DVD version of the films available that doesn't have all that shite? It's the little touches that enrage a fellow.
