One of our bands to watch in 2015, As It Is have revealed the lead single from their forthcoming Fearless Records debut album, ‘Never Happy, Ever After’. The Brighton based five-piece band have unveiled the official video for new track, ‘Dial Tone’.
Frontman Patty Walters spoke of the track. “We wrote Dial Tones quite late in the writing process, which is massively apparent in the lyrics,” he said. “The five of us hadn’t seen our girlfriends in nearly four months, knowing we’d see them even less this year, which we all started handling quite badly. I think it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with – making the decision to hurt the person you love most to follow your dream.”
“The lyrics were mine and Ben’s way of dealing with the guilt and shame we both felt, that all five of us felt, everyday. Dial Tones is a song I have a tremendous amount of pride for. It feels like a pat on the back when it gets stuck in someone’s head. I’m genuinely so excited to finally be releasing the first glimpse into our album.”
‘Never Happy, Ever After’ will follow last year’s ‘This Mind of Mine’ EP.
