Cassels sign to Big Scary Monsters and stream new track

By Ben Tipple

Post-punk duo Cassels have signed to Big Scary Monsters for the release of their debut EP.

“We’re suuuper super chuffed to finally share this with y’all, and over the moon to be working with BSM who are one of our absolute favourite labels in the whole wide world,” the band announced on Facebook earlier today.

To celebrate the announcement, Cassels are streaming new track ‘Hating Is Easy’ via Gold Flake Paint.

The EP of the same name will be released on the 10th July via Big Scary Monsters in conjunction with Idiot King Recordings. It is available to pre-order now.

Yet despite the good news, Cassels have another point to make.

“…but I have to say my sense of excitement has been somewhat diminished today and replaced by a sort of black hole filled with despondency and foreboding following last night’s election results,” their statement continued. “There’s a song on this EP about the ongoing demonisation of those ‘benefit scroungers’ who our rich and privileged leaders would have us all believe are responsible for a vast proportion of the country’s current problems. Kind of wish we’d premiered that track now…”
