Counting Days announce new album and stream track

By Ben Tipple

Counting Days, featuring former members of TRC and Heights, will be releasing their debut full-length on the 16th October. ‘Liberated Sounds’ will be available via Mascot Records.

“I had some songs that I had been writing that didn’t quite fit with the band so I sent them over to Lasselle to see what he thought and he was blown away and totally into it,” guitarist Charlie Wilson explains how him and drummer Lasselle Lewis brought Counting Days together in 2014.

The line-up has since been completed by former Heights frontman Thomas Debaere, Bobby Daniels of Last Witness and Alex Dench of Rough Hands.

“This wasn’t a conscious effort, they are just things that really struck a chord,” Debaere says of the record’s themes of mortality and religion. “Even the title, ‘Liberated Sounds’, was inspired by the feeling we all got from writing it, five mates writing music without restrictions or judgement.”

In anticipation of the release, Counting Days are streaming the record’s title track.

Counting Days will be playing a handful of shows around the record’s release.
