Defeater stream ‘Abandoned’ LP in full

By Ben Tipple

Defeater are streaming their fourth full-length in full ahead of release. ‘Abandoned’ will be available from the 28th August via Epitaph Records.

The concept album tells the story Catholic priest who finds strength and weakness during the war. Vocalist Derek Archambault drew influence from his recent life-altering hip surgery.

Archambault is keen to stress that ‘Abandoned’ is not a simple anti-religion stance. “This is my ending metaphor for lifeโ€”itโ€™s about how people constantly look for answers for their questions in all the wrong places,” he explains.
