Download Festival announces on site activity

By Ben Tipple

Download Festival organisers have announced a whole wealth of on-site activity, that proves the event is about more than just music.

The full programme includes the previously announced PROGRESS Wresting, plus Dog’s Bed open mic stage, Hair of the Dog beer and real ale house, Download’s Chapel of Love at the inflatable Church, Heavy Metal Speed Dating, The Doghouse, Comedy, Cinema, Silent Disco, Laser Tag, Demolition Download, Pop-up Art Gallery, KISS face painting, circus and mask-making Workshops, the Download Totem, Seat of Luxury and food.

As PROGRESS Wresting promises a continued feud between Jimmy Havoc and the Download Dog, punters can enjoy in some open mic frivolity, or even a spot of Laser Tag.

Perhaps on the odder side of the spectrum, the Download’s Chapel of Love at the Inflatable Church allows for unofficial weddings. We would expect some rather peculiar pairings.

All the usual activities will also be on hand, including evening entertainment at The Doghouse, with Uprawr, Face Down, Ultimate Power and more on the bill. There’s also the Download Totem, comedy, silent discos, medieval carnage and more.

Plus food, Seat of Luxury passes for a high-tech toilet experience, Somersby cider bar and Zippo competitions.

And there’s bands. Don’t forget the bands.

Download Festival will take place between the 12th and 14th June 2015, headlined by Slipknot, Muse and Kiss. Full details and tickets are avialable via the official Download website.
