Elder Brother release surprise EP

By Ben Tipple

Elder Brother, comprising of The Story So Far’s Kevin Geyer and Dan Rose of Daybreaker, have released a surprise four-track EP. The record, entitled ‘Wish You Were Here’, features four tracks with the same title – one original, and three covers of tracks by The Get Up Kids, Ryan Adams and Pink Floyd.

The EP is available digitally now, with physical copies due on the 31st March 2015.

“The idea for the EP kind of started as a joke,” says Dan Rose. “We realized that there were a lot of good songs called “Wish You Were Here” and joked around about doing a cover album of only songs with that title. Eventually we joked around about it enough that we just said fuck it and did it live in two days with Ben Hirschfield at Nu-Tone Studios in Pittsburg, CA. My only regret is not including the smash hit from Incubus on the record. Maybe that’s for Volume 2.”
