Frank Turner part of ALPHA exhibition in aid of CALM

By Ben Tipple

Folk-punk troubadour Frank Turner will appear as part of the ALPHA exhibition in the aid of metal health charity, CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably).

ALPHA sees five award-winning photographers present material designed to start a dialogue around mental health and the impact of the alpha male stereotype. Scarlet Page, daughter of Jimmy, focuses on portrait images of famous musicians who have openly battled with depression, including Gary Numan, Frank Turner and Professor Green.

Other artists, including long-time Placebo collaborator Helena Berg, use other means to represent the male emotional experience.

Launching on International Men’s Day on the 19th November 2015, the exhibition aims to bring to light the male suicide epidemic, which is the biggest killer of men aged 20 to 45 in the UK. CALM are working tirelessly to destroy the stigma, and to provide channels for men to speak of their negative emotions more openly.

The exhibition will open to the general public on the 20th November 2015 at The Print Space in London. It will run until the 27th November.
