No Sleep Records to release ‘A Comp for Mom’ in August

By Ben Tipple

No Sleep Records will be releasing a limited edition compilation to commemorate the life of founder Chris Hansen’s mother. 1000 vinyl pressings of ‘A Comp for Mom’ will be available from the 5th August, alongside digital downloads.

“‘A Comp For Mom’ is a special project I planned over the past month of my mom’s life, to release in her honor and to help raise funds for her medical bills,” Hansen explains. “Now it will be released in memory of her. 100% of the proceeds will be going towards any medical bills/other expenses incurred after her passing, after that 100% of the proceeds will go into a Linda Hansen Memorial Fund.”

The compilation, also to be available through the record label’s BandCamp page, features 15 exclusive b-sides and rarities by some of the world’s most exciting artists including Allison Weiss, La Dispute, Moose Blood and The Wonder Years. The digital release will also feature a cover by Touche Amore.
