The Academy Is… to reunite for appearance at Riot Fest

William Beckett will reunite with his The Academy Is… band-mates for a one-off appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago. The band will be performing their popular ‘Almost Here’ LP in full, to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

“Hello old friends,” the band announced on Facebook. “We are pleased to announce that we will be reuniting the band for a our first show in many years. In September, we will come together for Chicago’s RIOT FEST in Douglas Park to perform our beloved debut album ‘Almost Here’ in its entirety. This is a 10 Year Anniversary Show! This is a Reunion Show! This is a Farewell Show! We are extremely excited to take a trip down memory lane – in the city that we call home.”

“See you soon! Xo. The Academy Is…,” the conclude.

Although implying that their show at Riot Fest in Chicago would be an isolated occurrence, The Academy Is… have since confirmed a second date on the 10th September 2015 at the city’s Double Door.

The Academy Is… released two full-lengths following ‘Almost Here’; 2007’s ‘Santi’ and ‘Fast Times at Barrington High’ the following year.
