Astpai at Groezrock 2014

It’s been a busy week here at Punktastic, with our sell out Real Friends show last night in Cardiff, a trip to WTFest and recovery from Groezrock keeping all of us busy and tired! On Sundays, you’ll be able to see the best of our content and a handy round up of the week’s news right here.

In some of our new opinion pieces Tom (or me, whatever) got stuck in with some brief musing over the impending summer festival season, and we also let Devon Kay spin some yarns over celebrity in bands.

We gave you guys a first listen to some great new releases this week as well – The Caulfield Cult/Godard split is excellent, as is the new Send Away Stranger EP. We’ve got a killer stream tomorrow too from a FITA Records bands, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

In reviews, we got stuck in with new releases from Apologies, I Have None, Oxygen Theif, The Grizzlies and The Kimberly Steaks over in reviews, with Tom Beck noting the former’s new EP as an “excellent return”.

Our Groezrock coverage also started with galleries from Friday and Saturday featuring NOFX, Descendents, Astpai and many, many more.

Over in interviews, we sat down with Tonight Alive and Seahaven, and you can expect interviews with Bayside, The Front Bottoms and Neck Deep up this week as well!

Finally, it was a hectic week of news again this week. In festivals, Slam Dunk announced stage splits, The Skints were added to Guilfest and Sonisphere announced their official ale as the Iron Maiden ‘Trooper’ beer.

Braid, Goodtime Boys, Masked Intruder and Real Friends all posted new music online from their forthcoming albums, and Astpai also detailed the release of their new record. In tour news, Taking Back Sunday and Kevin Devine also detailed UK runs!

Phew! We’ll leave you with a little clip of the carnage from our Punktastic Presents… Real Friends show last night! What a week!

NOTHING FEELS RIGHT. Thank you @realfriendsband and crew for making last night so great
