Coloured In bring grunge-punk to a sweet shop in new video

Grunge has been slowly working its way back into the alternative scene for a number of years, and has seen a whole host of hardcore acts turn their attention towards the distorted and downtrodden. Drawing influence from the new wave of grunge pioneers, Kent based Coloured In are making a serious play for the accolade on ‘Seattle’.

The track originally appeared on the three piece’s ‘2015’ EP, released at the start of February and available via BandCamp. “‘Seattle’, is in it’s simplest terms, about my poor sleeping pattern and love lost and how one, can often lead to the other,” vocalist and bassist Tom Boughton explains.

“We filmed the video in Benji’s Sweet Shop in Canterbury,” Boughton goes on to explain the video. “The owner is a good friend of mine and an avid supporter of local musical talent and after a few beers he was more than happy to let us have some fun in his place! Huge thanks goes out to him for letting us do this!”

With its heavier take on the likes of new material by Title Fight, and preceding the new direction by Citizen, ‘Seattle’ puts Coloured In firmly in the spotlight. Having shared a stage with Milk Teeth and Hindsights at their Canterbury show earlier in the year, Coloured In are now set to make their move.
