First play of the debut Future Teens EP

By Ben Tipple

A quick glimpse at the biography on Boston, Massachusetts based indie-punk duo Future Teens’ official website is enough to understand their mentality. Both Grape and Doo share their time between this outfit and other bands, and Future Teens has developed into an outlet for their less serious side.

Declaring themselves as entirely original, satirically of course, and with songs surrounding Hollywood-starlet Jennifer Lawrence and informal dating, Future Teens are definitely having fun.

That fun shines brightly on new EP, ‘Still Afraid of Allston’. Balancing between the likes of The Menzingers and all-out summer pop, the duo provide an uplifting and energetic listen. With music finding it notably difficult to be original, their satirical bio is perhaps closer to the mark than they would like to admit.

‘Still Afraid of Allston’ will be available soon (exact details TBC), and acts as a precursor to their full-length debut. The record surrounds the procession from teenage years into adulthood, and the various trails and tribulations that entails.
