First play of the new Simmer track, ‘Bering Strait’

By Ben Tipple

Originally appearing on ‘Sensible Record Labels: An RSD ’15 Compilation’ for Record Store Day 2015′, Cheshire based alternative four piece Simmer have now released ‘Being Strait’ for streaming.

“‘Bering Strait’ is a bit of a departure from the sound we’ve established on ‘Yellow Streak’, and is roughly the halfway point between our earlier stuff and the album that we’re currently writing,” the band explain. “It was a song we’d been playing around with for a while, and when we were offered the chance to be on the Sensible Record Labels compilation, we recorded it at the first opportunity. We’re really pleased with how it turned out, so we’ve decided to release it as a free download for those who were unable to buy the record.”

The free download and stream coincides with the start of the band’s small UK run, including a stop at London’s The Stillery for a free Punktastic Presents show, joined by itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Wallflower, and Big Nothing (who join them across all dates).
