First play of the new Swim Good video

By Ben Tipple

London based four-piece Swim Good draw together the in-your-face frivolity of the likes of Don Broco with the trademark British alt-rock sound honed by Lower Than Atlantis and their ilk. Formed back in 2012, the band released their debut self-titled EP earlier this year via Failure By Design Records. Their melodic sound has seen them take to the stage alongside the aforementioned Don Broco, in addition to contemporaries Blitz Kids, Hildamay and Arcane Roots, whilst also preparing for their run of UK dates later this month.

“It all got to a point where we had to reel it back in and sort of take a breather” explains bassist Curtis Sharkey when speaking about their first year as a band. “We all had various things in our professional and personal lives to sort out before we could put as much into the band as we wanted to.”

Testament to their initial hardworking years, Swim Good managed to pull it together, attracting attention from influential figures across the scene following the EP’s release. With the likes of ‘Yeah Yeah Great Yeah’, Swim Good now have every opportunity to find themselves enjoying the same commercial success as their friends – all the while adding a little more unpredictability, lively melody and an alternative edge that sets them apart.
