First play of the new track by Forever Cult

By Ben Tipple

Having formed less than 12 months ago, Huddersfield based grunge trio Forever Cult have spent their short lifespan to date building a strong reputation for their unashamed 90s revivalist sound, drawing on the darker influences of the genre’s heyday.

Their material has seen them picked up by the ever-influential BBC Introducing, leading to slots at Reading and Leeds Festival this summer, alongside label mates and future Lonely The Brave/Marmozets touring partners, Allusondrugs.

Forever Cult are set to return on the 3rd November with their new double A-side single, ‘Yasmin / OceanOceanOcean’ – to be released via Clue Records. In anticipation of the physical and digital release, we are exclusively streaming the first track of the two.

‘Yasmin’ opens with Kieran Clarke’s beautifully out of tune grunge drone, before bursting with an intensely gritty attitude which underpins the remaining two and a half minutes. The track perfectly demonstrates Forever Cult’s no-nonsense grunge, while highlighting their angrier edge – an edge which spawned the original movement.

Forever Cult have a number of live dates scheduled across the coming months.
