Hear the new EP from Wolves&Wolves&Wolves&Wolves

By Glen Bushell

If someone mentions “The Gainesville Sound” when talking about a punk band, you know almost instantly what to expect. Gravelly vocals, sharp yet melodic guitars, and a working class ethic that was championed by many bands from Florida. The sound itself transcended the sunshine state, and even in 2015 is still something that many aspiring punk bands look to for inspiration. Enter North Carolina’s Wolves&Wolves&Wolves&Wolves – or Wolvesx4 for short – who have given a fresh a take on “The Gainesville Sound” on their new EP ‘Scars’, of which we are bringing you an exclusive first play today.

“I’ve had the song Scars laying around since before the last ‘Scorched Earth’ EP” says vocalist/guitarist Brian Woodall when talking about the new EP. “I just needed to get lyrics done and those came pretty easy after writing ‘What I Bleed’ and ‘Cross’. We had planned to do ‘Cross And The Switchblade’ acoustic as well as ‘Serpents’ and have Side B all acoustic… but the more I played it the more I started hearing a full band version in my head. So I had to get it there, but now I wanna hear it acoustic again. Damnit”

‘Scars’ will be released via Wiretap Records on August 14th, and will be available both digitally, and in limited 7″ vinyl quantities, which you are able to pre-order now.
