Hear the new track from Life In Vacuum

By Glen Bushell

There’s nothing better than hearing a band that can be absolutely visceral, yet manage to harness their chaos in a way that makes them completely engaging. Thats exactly what Canadian post-hardcore/math-rock band Life In Vacuum do incredibly well, and today we are bringing you the first play of their new track ‘Black Snow’.

“The whole EP itself was inspired by recent events in Ukraine that displaced thousands of people and fuelled ongoing, long term hatred between several neighbouring nations” said vocalist/guitarist Sasha Chornyy of the EP. “Lyrically ‘Black Snow’ is inspired by events form one winter morning in a town in Donetsk region when residents were watching black/grey snow coming down from the sky, the morning after the explosion of a mining facility in their town. Smoke from the fire turned the snow black.”

Serving as their first new music in nearly 18-months, ‘Black Snow’ is a taste of what’s to come from the trio, and is taken from the bands forthcoming split with Mexican punk band Joliette on Skeletal Lightning. The split will be released digitally, and as a very limited cassette format on July 31st, with pre-orders available now.

Both Life In Vacuum and Joliette will be heading out on a U.S and Canadian tour to support release, which you can see the dates for below, as well listen to the stunning ‘Black Snow’.
