Watch the new video by hardcore punks Grindhouse

On their new video for ‘Silver Tongued Human’, Brighton based hardcore punks Grindhouse are making a stand.

“In light of venues closing down due to senseless policies fueled by an unwilling public and people finding themselves with less and less money under the neoliberal strain, we’ve taken it as an initiative to make sure that the music we love to play and listen to doesn’t suffer and become subjected to an untimely decay,” the band state.

“If you have a chance to put on a show, do it; if you have a house to spare, use it. These are the environments that get people together and make the blood flow. This video is a little nod to what we love doing and to all the people who keep the ball rolling.”

The video acts a short documentary, depicting one of the band’s house-shows – from the narrow crowd surfing to the well-respected kitchen mosh, to utilising the kitchen sink as a stage.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the band’s gritty, downtempo yet ferocious punk is built on a strict DIY ethos. It’s the result of a band firmly cemented in the local scene. “Because we don’t know any better,” the band respond when asked about doing it themselves.
