JamisonParker – Sleepwalker

By paul

If JamisonParker were a woman, it’d be a prostitute. A dirty, drug-riddled, sleazewhore – quite possibly with a scabby face and no teeth. It’d be the kind of woman you’d go with because you were absolutely desperate to get a hit – but after said event would be left feeling revolting and dirty. ‘Sleepwalker’ is the musical equivalent of a vile one-night stand. Seriously, I feel violated even listening to this turgid, stale piece of major label wank. Two young lads, heavily caked in make-up and sharp shirts, literally throw up over a compact disc. Heartfelt and meaningful it ain’t.

The songs here are just boring and uninspiring. The choruses are tepid, the verses stale. I’ve pressed the skip button on every single song, first listen, for the duration of this entire album. ‘Sleepwalker’ would love to be up there with albums such as ‘Clarity’ by Jimmy Eat World, but to do that you need to be good. There’s no emotion and no power. This is watered down emo-pap for the mainstream – and it’s bloody awful.
