Former Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin frontman Andrew McMahon is streaming a new track by his solo outfit, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, now via Buzzfeed.
‘High Dive’, the second track to be taken from his forthcoming album, follows the previously revealed ‘Cecilia and the Satellite’, both of which are instantly available when pre-ordering the record via iTunes.
“When I found out I was ill, nearly 10 years ago now, my wife, then girlfriend, and I had just begun the process of reconciling after being separated,â McMahon told BuzzFeed. “We married in the midst of my recovery and left the beach towns where we grew up to hide out in Los Angeles. Moving back to the beach in 2011 began the process of closing the loop on that chapter of my life and forced me to revisit lose ends. In âHigh Diveâ I found myself asking the question, âif this wild disruption had never taken place what would that reconciliation have looked like? Would I be the guy driving by her house late at night, hoping to catch a glimpse of her, but knowing I couldnât come in?â In its most universal sense itâs about loving someone so much that youâll take anything theyâre willing to give even if itâs not enough.”
Andrew McMahon’s self-titled record is due on the 14th October 2014. Physical pre-orders are also available.
