Punktastic office faves The Ataris have released a few more details about what they will be up to this year.
Speaking to fan site theataris.com, Kris Roe said:
“First off, the remastered and remixed cd of The Ataris, Anywhere But Here, will for sure not be released until at least May due to technical complications involving the new cover and liner notes of the CD (Wait until you see it). ”
On the same website, the owners suggest that the new record, due for a summer release, has been written by all four members of the band.
The new cd will be called Don’t Ever Compromise What You Believe and The Ataris have worked out 15 new demos all of which have been recorded at Kid Knapp’s house.
Whereas with previous albums, Kris Roe did all the song writing (or most of), the new cd will be more of a collaboration. Mike wrote a song, Johnny wrote a couple songs and Kid had a hand in some too. Lyrically, the songs will be comprised of lyrics written by Kris and collected in his journal over the span of the last couple years.
Here’s hoping it’s not going to be quite as contrived as part of End Is Forever…
