Taken from AP.net – details of the soundtrack to the new Superman movie. “The Man Of Steel might be getting a flat iron for Christmas this year. A spokesperson for Rhino Records has announced the preliminary tracklisting for ‘Sound Of Superman’, a compilation featuring “covers and original songs that explore themes of heroism and name-drop” Superman. Among the bands confirmed for the project are Paramore (covering Foo Fighters‘ “My Hero”), the Receiving End Of Sirens (covering Stereophonics’ “Superman”), the Academy Is… (covering R.E.M.’s “Superman”) and Nightmare Of You (covering the Flaming Lips’ “Waitin’ For A Superman”). Bands contributing original material include Jack’s Mannequin, Plain White T’s and Maxeen, whose song “Save Me” is the first single from the pseudo-soundtrack and is already available on iTunes.”
