The Lion And The Wolf streams new track, ‘Bar Stools’

By Ben Tipple

The Lion And The Wolf, the stunning solo project by Tom George, is streaming his new track, ‘Bar Stools’. The song is taken from his new 7″, ‘My Father’s Eyes’.

“The song is about a time I made a stupid decision and kicked down a fence in reaction to somebody telling me something that I definitely didn’t want to hear. It was after a drunken walk home and I will never, ever forget that evening,” Tom George explains. “I genuinely felt like my stomach had been ripped out. I guess it scared me to learn that I could react in such a way as I’m generally the most down to earth person in the world.”

“Bar Stools’ was tracked live in the same studio where we recorded ‘Symptoms’ and this is definitely my favourite song that we have recorded yet,” he continues. “I guess it’s a real community song in the fact that everybody who played on the song / sang on it / helped out are all from the Isle of Wight. I’ve also fallen in love with the trumpet solo, it sounds like a Hovis advert!”

‘My Father’s Eyes’ is scheduled for vinyl release on the 2nd October 2015, and is available to stream now via BandCamp. It follows last year’s incredible ‘Symptoms’.
