thisGIRL short strut to the brassy front

By paul

Punktastic’s mates in thisGIRL dropped us a line to let us know what the hell the post-hardcore heroes are upto.

So, to find out the tracklisting for their debut record, and a hell of a lot of tour dates, read on:

“After the cancellation of the first date of the tour in Bristol the Metal Hammer tour will now start THIS FRIDAY in Carlisle! The “Hammered hits the road” tour will last for the rest of Feb and is headlined by our labelmate’s TRIBUTE TO NOTHING. Acting as main support on the tour will be rockers DOG TOFFEE who we’ve already had the pleasure of sharing a stage with! Both these bands are amazing so it’s an understatement to say we’re excited!

“The tour see’s us hit 14 UK town‘s & cities as well as a short spell in Europe immediately after! The Tour will be the first chance to showcase all the new material taken from our debut album; “…short strut to the brassy front”

“As you may have read on the website recently, Lockjaw Records issued a statement declaring that they have had to move all of their UK & worldwide distribution agreement from pinnacle to PHD. This is a move everyone at lockjaw and thisGIRL HQ is more than happy about.

However, due to this the release of our debut album has had to be postponed. We now have a new release date and although everyone here would like to apologise for any inconvenience, we think it will be worth the wait! So be prepared as the album drops on MONDAY 8th APRIL and we’ll be running a BIG preorder promotion through the website next month!! It was recorded in a castle and cottage in the depths of the national trust forest and we had loads of fun doin’ it!

“Full complete tracklisting is *EXCLUSIVE* “Three Minute Spanish Film”, “T is for Tup-Tup”, “Lifts Curves and Separates”, “Using Radars to Communicate”, “Dil-Dil-Dewana”, “She said everyday is a holiday”, “two many magnetic words”, “Stop Making Sense”, “Los“, and “goodbye carpet-Hello rave party”

“After loads & loads of enquiries as to when our next London show will be, I now have pleasure in confirming our appearance at the SUBVERSE club run by Visible Noise Records on SATURDAY 30th MARCH. The club is located in the Ladbrooke Grove area of London and will be open to “all age’s” with a special daytime schedule. The doors are at 2pm and admission fee is only £2!! More details to follow…

“Three minute spanish film” has had quite a bit of airplay on Steve Lamacq’s evening session (R1) as well as totalrock & xfm! Please keep requesting the track if you wanna continue to hear it, hopefully we can keep the buzz going until the release of the album! If you STILL haven’t heard the track then you can download it at http://www.metalhammer.co.uk or http://www.thisgirl.co.uk

“All new thisGIRL merchandise (Including the brand new Tee Design) has now arrived! It will be available exclusively on the upcoming Metal Hammer Tour, after the tour full mail order service will be available so you can email us for more details…

“That’s all I’ll bombard you with for now! Thankyou once again for listening and showing your support…”
