Weezer albums are like buses. You don’t get one for ages, then three come at once!
With what seems like a million years between the release dates of ‘Pinkerton’ and ‘The Green Album’, Rivers Cuomo and the boys have already finished their fourth release and are now back in the studio laying down tracks for album number 5!
Record number 4, entitled ‘Maladroit’, is expected to hit the streets in May. The band are currently at odds with their record label after they sent out copies of the new songs to several radio stations and journalists, without the label’s permission.
The band even posted all the tracks on their website, www.weezer.com , so that fans could download them in mp3 form.
But now Weezer have announced that they have begun work on album 5, even before ‘Maladroit’ has been released.
No titles have yet been confirmed, although it is believed that the band are working on three or four new songs which could be taking a change in direction towards a more Smiths-esque feel.
