FEST 12: DAY TWO (When it rains, it pours)

Continuing on our Fest Photo Diary, we sent Mat ‘Mr Fresh’ Stokes and Maryam ‘Miss Squeaks’ Hassan to Florida in October to attend that Mecca for Punks that is The Fest. Day two could be called the best day of the weekend, the line up for that day was absolutely flawless. Amazing bands to watch from some point in the afternoon to some very early hour of the morning. There was silly string, beers flying and this one huge storm that led to soggy pizza and soaked punks. Have you ever been in a storm that is like someone has turned a hose pipe on you? That’s what happened. But we managed to get back to the Holiday Inn somehow (and jumped in ALL of the puddles).

We lost our hearts to The Hotel Year, our minds to Devon Kay and the Soultions and our dignity somewhere during Dude’s Night. Also just FYI if you get cat whiskers and a nose drawn on your own face with a Sharpie pen and then get rained on that face will melt all over your face. BE WARNED.

Friday was what Fest is about for both Maryam and Mat. Maryam has been going for the last three years and she knows this weekend is as much about hanging out with your friends and making new friends as it is about bands and pizza. Friday was spent in good company, with decent food and awesome music, what more could anyone want?

We found Greg from British Teeth wandering the halls of the Holiday Inn with a boombox he'd packed with him in London. It stopped working in Florida and we all laughed at him (he managed to fix it later with a sanitary towel).
