Alright the Captain announce hiatus

By Aaron Lohan

Nottingham math rock trio Alright the Captain have announced they will be going on hiatus on Facebook.

The band were originally at work on their third album. They shall be playing three more shows before their break this month. Their last record was last year’s ‘Contact Fix’.

The full statement is as follows:

“So, instead of making our third album we’ve decided to jack it in,
well, at least for the moment.
ATC isn’t dead, just hibernating for a non-specified amount of time.
we’re just going to explore some other musical projects for a while.
We’ve had a blast over the past 8 years and we’ve travelled to places we would never have seen before. We’ve made some great friends, drank a lot of booze (especially Marty), waited in traffic for hours and broken vans in exotic places. we are all still mates and that isn’t ever going to change.
Massive thanks go out to Ash West-Mullen, Tim Waterfield at Field Records, Dan Atkinson at Mountains of Records, Si Glacken at I Like Press, all the bands we’ve toured and shared the stage with over the years and all the promoters and people who have supported us in anyway possible, it really does mean a lot to us.
We still have three shows left to play so if you want to see us the dates are…
12th August – Bad Owl Presents at The Fox and next, Leeds with Floral (USA), Vogons and Oblongs
24th August – The Bodega, Nottingham with Vasudeva & TOTORRO
25th August – Firefly Worcester with Chiyoda Ku and The Broken Oak Duet
This is not the end. we love you all!
Love and kisses
ATC”
