Raising awareness and funds for LGBT+ mental health charity PACE, Then Spoke The Thunder is the first in series of shows designed to allow individuals to express their dissatisfaction with government cuts. According to the Facebook event page, “itβs about coming together to share space and art in aid of something greater, something that will make a positive impact on this country.”
“[It] will hopefully show young people engaging politically in a positive and constructive way – almost harking back to the days where music was used as a full on force for political change,” the organisers explain. “[We] also want to create a rock gig that is LGBT+ inclusive, which sadly, is not always the case at these kinds of events.”
The first show, scheduled to take place on the 25th August 2015, features headliners Speaking in Shadows. The Midlands alternative rockers will be joined by Big Mouse Tree House, The Fascinators and Larkhill.
Then Spoke The Thunder will take place at London’s The Garage.
