Berlin’s Free Free Dom Dom share video for ‘FFDD’

Berlin electro-punk duo Free Free Dom Dom have shared the video for ‘FFDD’, shot by London based OphĂ©lie Rondeau. The video is accompanied by a behind the scenes 35mm photos series, taken by the film maker and photographer.

‘FFDD’ straddles a collection of styles, pulling together a distinct punk attitude with the likes of Sleigh Bells, Grimes and even a tiny hint of South African oddities Die Antwoord. It’s unlike anything else, unmistakably borne out of the Berlin subculture and unafraid to push any boundaries.

“We chose to work with Ophelie Rondeau because she is talented and has a very rock’n’roll spirit,” the duo explain. “Shooting with her feels just like a bunch of friends having fun. It was like a free ride in Berlin, improvising and having fun. It was her idea to use Super8mm as she essentially works with analog cameras on her personal project Ophelie and the Girls.”

“As the super8 films and developing are quite expensive we could only afford 3 rolls, which is about 9 minutes of film in total, so we had to be particularly precise on the shoot…Super8mm really gave an exciting vibe to our video, and it made it more special.”

“The “FFDD” video reflects our state of mind: when you try something too hard then you just feel the need to go back to something simple and authentic…like walking in a park, chilling, contemplating.”
