Brett Newski takes on social norms with ‘Garage’

By Ben Tipple

Having announced his new album through a press-conference (we use the term loosely), nomadic singer-songwriter Brett Newski has unveiled the first track to appear from ‘Land Air Sea Garage’.

According to Newski, ‘Garage’ is “a song about pulling oneself out of limbo by ignoring the pressures of outdated social ā€œnormsā€ set up by old dead white guys who didnā€™t have the internet.”

Shot by Cyrion Willems in Prague, the video features a brief exchange with Thom Petty (yes, we know it should be Tom). “When it comes to touring Europe, itā€™s tough to find more of a ā€œtime warpā€ locale than Prague,” Newski adds. “Itā€™s pristine and medieval.”

ā€˜Land, Air, Sea, Garageā€™, the follow-up to ā€˜American Folk Armageddonā€™ will be available from the 18th August via Make My Day Records in Europe, and the 4th November in the US. Thereā€™s a crowd-source campaign for the record too, where you can pre-order the record. You can also bitch slap Brett with a giant salmon.
