Having stormed Hevy Fest last weekend, playing their seminal ‘In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3’ in full, progressive rockers Coheed & Cambria have posted the official video for their latest single, ‘You Got Spirit, Kid’. The catch? It’s not yet available in the UK.
“Our video for ‘You Got Spirit, Kid’ gave us a chance to showcase a relaxed side of the band’s personality,” explains Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez. “With our love for ‘80s nostalgia, we decided to approach the treatment in a John Hughes or Steven Spielberg type fashion, allowing the spirit of youth and camaraderie to shine in each frame.”
The video depicts the band delivering payback to a group of school bullies via a series of pranks.
‘You Got Spirit, Kid’ is taken from their forthcoming ‘The Color Before The Sun’ LP, due on the 16th October 2015.
Those stateside folk can enjoy the video via The Nerdist now. A UK release is expected to follow shortly.
