Melodic hardcore punks Darko have announced a huge ’30 Days Of Darko’ EU tour, including appearances at the Manchester Punk Festival, Konrad Fest, Punk Rock Holiday and More of This Fest IV. The technical five-piece will also by making an appearance at The Black Heart in London on the 26th June 2015.
To celebrate the announcement, the band have also revealed the official video for ‘Timepieces and Lock Shaped Hearts’, taken from their ‘Sea of Trees’ EP.
“This track was initially inspired by something I read about a guy who had dementia – when hearing the songs of his youth it kind of brought him out of it a little and made him happy,” explains vocalist Dan Smith. “I started to wonder if my band and the songs I’ve written with those guys could perhaps (wishfully thinking/hoping) ever have an impact like that, the idea being that the “Timepieces” are the songs the “Lock Shaped Hearts” are the memories that are brought about by hearing the songs.”
“We get to hang out with a lot of great people when we’re on the road, who always have really nice things to say about us and what we do and I just hope that our songs and our performances make people smile and they take away good fun memories from our interactions,” the band continue. “As the song says: this is all for you; we hope you like it and when we’re all old and grey that you get to hear our tunes again and they grant you the gift of great memories and good times!”
