Fourteen people have been arrested at the Reading Festival, police said today. Among those arrested at the Berkshire music festival, which started today, were two men who were allegedly posing as plain-clothed officers, asking revellers to empty their pockets and “confiscating” cannabis to sell on, police said. The pair, one aged 26 and from Reading, the other 27 and from Didcot, Oxfordshire, are both being held in police custody. The other arrests have been for similarly minor offences. A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “There have been no major incidents or serious crimes. “Police have been working to deter offenders, especially those stealing from tents and those selling and consuming drugs.”
