Goldfinger have withdrawn from this year’s Slam Dunk Festival and surrounding Slam Dunk Ska Punk tour in the UK.
The band will not be able to play due to injury, and it means that Zebrahead will top the bill at the Slam Dunk Ska Punk shows now, apart from Norwich which has been cancelled altogether.
Slam Dunk takes place at the end of May this year. Check out what the festival had to say below for all the details.
It is with deep regret we have to announce the withdrawal from the festival by our old friends Goldfinger. One of the members has had to have some routine minor surgery and the recovery process has taken a little longer than expected. This has made travel and performing impossible so they had no choice but to pull out of the festival and the tour around it.
Legendary frontman John Feldman says: “Due to this unexpected situation, Goldfinger will not be performing at the Slam Dunk Festival/UK headline dates in May. The band is deeply saddened as we were looking forward to being part of Slam Dunk for some time now. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and will make the shows up as soon as we can.”
Ben Osmundson of Zebrahead added: “Bummer to hear Goldfinger won’t be on Slam Dunk and the surrounding dates. We will drink a few extra beers those nights and make sure they are nights you will never forget….Or maybe you can’t remember?”
We are sure you will agree Goldfinger cannot be simply replaced, so the festival bill we be reworked and another band will be added where appropriate. We will announce this shortly.
As for the tour… the shows will be replaced by Zebrahead headline shows, with the exception of Norwich which unfortunately has been cancelled. Existing ticket holders should contact their ticket provider for details of getting a partial refund and still going to the show or getting a full refund.
We are as bummed about this as you guys, but stick with us for an update in the near future! Ben & Jd
