My Awesome Compilation head out to California on Wednesday next Wednesday to record their EP and here’s an exclusive sneak peak into what to expect! The as yet untitled mini-album (“It’s still a surprise i’m afraid!” says Andy) will feature seven songs, including new versions of ‘Miracle Mile’ and ‘Giving Up’. The new songs, one of which is untitled, include ‘Wish You Well’ (“An upbeat song with
stomping drum bits to get everyones bums wiggling and feet tapping!”) ‘Butterflies’ (“I think the girls like this one cos its quite sweet. This song is just about feeling good and believing in yourself.”) ‘As Always’ and ‘Sunrise, Sunsets and all the In-Betweens’ (“This song is about uncertainty and (to quote a lyric from the song) ‘taking time to do what you do best’.”) Both ‘Miracle Mile’ and ‘Giving Up’ will be future singles. According to Andy the major difference from the last EP will be the addition of Woody and his keyboards. He added: “It’ll be more of an upbeat affair in general – they’ll still be a lot of soul on the record and we want to capture as much of our live energy on the record as possible.” The record will be released in the Autumn on Bravestar. Oh, and a final message from the band: “We have to thank everyone for their support so far. Without all the people singing at the shows and all the new friends we’ve met in every town we’ve played, we wouldn’t have been so inspired! Without the support of our families and close friends, some doors may have never been opened. Sorry to get so soppy! We love you!”
