Great Collapse stream new track, ‘Break In Case Of Emergency’

By Ben Tipple

Having yesterday announced the first ever release of their debut EP on vinyl, punk supergroup Great Collapse have now revealed the second single to be taken from their forthcoming full-length ‘Holy War’. ‘Break In Case of Emergency’ joins the previously revealed ‘New Abolition’ on the record, due on the 2nd October via End Hits Records.

“To draw out the idea that that there are cornerstones of conflict, flashpoints of each decade… little historical moments that spoke truth to power and the whirlwinds that came after… In the face of relentless culture engineering, capitalism’s colonisation of representation, weaponized imagery, and even how we relate with history itself,” vocalist Thomas Barnett, also of Strike Anywhere, explains of the track.

“It’s kind of an attempt at a lyrical collage of breaking moments in history or culture. ‘1970’s were made in Hong Kong’ Is a song by Flux Of Pink Indians, a Crass Records band. Starting there, with gratitude and a mission, this song tracks the subtle and spectacular moments that either subverted or fueled the dominant agenda of isolation and passivity. It’s our choice to break the glass and resist.”

Great Collapse featuring frontman Thomas Barnett (Strike Anywhere), bassist Joe Saucedo (Set Your Goals), drummer Todd Henning (ex Death By Stereo) and guitarists Chris Chasse (ex Rise Against) and Tom Arnott (At Risk/Love Equals Death), will be touring the UK and mainland Europe in October. During their time on the road, they will join BOYSETSFIRE, Silverstein, Refused, Antillectual, Matt Davies and Rise Against.
