Idlewild return with everything they’ve ever written

By Ben Tipple

They’ve been away for five years, but Idlewild are back with details of their eight studio album, ‘Everything Ever Written’.

Produced by the band’s guitarist Rod Jones, the record is set to be their most varied to date, drawing influence from folk, Americana and psychedelica, amongst others.

“The album was predominantly written on the Isle of Mull”, vocalist Roddy Woomble explains. “The record soundtracks a period of transition. Working without time constraints gave the whole thing a creative freedom. Idlewild is a new band to me now; I’m excited for the future.”

Having already premiered lead single ‘Collect Yourself’ via BBC Radio 6, the band are offering the track for immediate download with any pre-order. The album is scheduled for release on the 9th February 2015.

Idlewild will be touring in support of the record in the first quarter of 2015. Exclusive pre-sale tickets will be available to fans who pre-order the record before the 7th November 2014.
