Iggy Pop and Josh Homme are ready to ‘Break Into Your Heart’

Only a few days after unveiling his project alongside Queens Of The Stone Age’s Joshua Homme, Iggy Pop has unveiled another track from their collaborative desert project. ‘Break Into Your Heart’ follows ‘Gardenia’, taken from ‘Post Pop Depression’. It’s Iggy’s 17th studio album. Yep, 17.

‘Post Pop Depression’ will be available from the 18th March, and sees Homme as co-creator. The pair are joined by Dean Fertitia of The Dead Weather and Arctic Monkeys’ drummer Matt Helders.

“I wanted to be free,” Iggy says of the project. “To be free, I needed to forget. To forget, I needed music. Josh had that in him, so I set out to provoke an encounter-first with a carefully worded text, followed by a deluge of writings all about me. No composer wants to write about nothing. He got revved up and we had a great big rumble in the desert USA.”

“This was to go where neither of us had gone before,” adds Homme. “That was the agreement. And to go all the way.”
