Owls announce first album in 13 years

By Ben Tipple

Despite their turbulent history, Owls have unveiled their first new material in some time, and announced their first full-length in 13 years.

Made up of Tim and Mike Kinsella, Victor Villarreal, and Sam Zurick, Owls began as a follow-on to their teenage creation, Cap’n Jazz. Only upon reforming for a tour in 2010 under the Cap’n Jazz moniker did the four-piece decide to record new material, opting to do so as Owls.

Still fraught with difficulty, the recording process began to bear fruit, building upon the experience the band members had gained in other outfits, including Owen, Joan of Arc, Make Believe and Ghosts and Vodka.

Owls are planning to release ‘Two’ on the 25th March 2014. In anticipation they are streaming to reasonably lo-fi track ‘I’m Surprised…’.

The full tracklisting for ‘Two’ is:

01 Four Works Of Art…
02 I’m Surprised…
03 The Lion…
04 Why Oh Why…
05 This Must Be How…
06 Ancient Stars Seed…
07 It Collects Itself…
08 I’ll Never Be…
09 Oh No, Don’t…
10 A Drop Of Blood…
