Progress Wrestling to make its Donington debut at Download Festival

By Ben Tipple

On Sunday at a Progress Wresting event that was, for legal reasons, definitely NOT called ‘Progresslemania’, punters were in for a surprise when the Download Dog (photo courtesy of Rob Brazier) entered the ring to support a very special announcement.

The wrestling event, which has been described as “part punk gig, part away end at a football match” by co-creator Jim Smallman, will make its way to this year’s Download Festival.

In the announcement, all of the wrestling roster were invited to Donington, with the exception of Jimmy Havoc. Havoc, clearly disturbed by the news, proceeded to set his goons on the surprised Download Dog.

Progress Wresting will appear at Download between the 12th and 14th June 2015 alongside headliners Slipknot, Muse and Kiss, plus a whole host of other bands and entertainment.

Full details and tickets can be found via the official Download website. For more on Progress Wrestling, check out their website too.
