Pussy Riot found guilty of Hooliganism in Russia

By Tom Aylott

THe latest development in the ongoing trial of Pussy Riot in Russia is that the trio have been found guilty of Hooliganism.

The sentence of their imprisonment hasn’t been read out yet (this article will be updated as it is), but the protest against the decision from Amnesty International and groups across the world has begun, and outrage against the Russian Court’s decision will only rise now that the guilty verdict has been returned.

The “hooliganism motivated by religious hatred” charge has been contested heavily, but Judge Marina Syrova said the actions of the women had “crudely undermined social order”.
