Relive BBC Radio 1’s Rock All Dayer in all its visual glory

By Ben Tipple

As outside London reached peak humidity, a handful of music fans moved into the iconic BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale Studios for a series of intimate performances by some of the biggest and most exciting artists in the world of rock. As Moose Blood kicked off proceedings with a typically exceptional performance in one of the smaller studios, the excited throng prepared themselves for the likes of A Day To Remember, Asking Alexandia, Against The Current and the ever-passionate Creeper – whose performance of ‘Misery’ packed a particularly emotional punch in the cosy space.

Headliners of sorts blink-182 played a handful of acoustic numbers to the enthralled audience, as ‘I Miss You’ prompted a marriage proposal at the front of the crowd. She said yes. It was Frank Carter though who brough Maida Vale to its knees; quite literally as he asked the audience to sit during a poignant version of ‘Loss’ – dedicated to his father-in-law. ‘Devil Inside Me’ saw Carter leap onto the shoulders of the obliging crowd, juxtaposed against the Radio 1 logo backdrop and proving resolutely that the rock was brought.

Don’t just take our word for it though. Watch some of the performances from across the evening in the YouTube playlist below.
