Norwegian outfit SLØTFACE have unveiled their new track, ‘Take Me Dancing’, a remarkably lighthearted follow-up to their ‘Sponge State’ LP. The track is a celebration of personal liberation, a continuation of the strong feminist message running throughout their material.
“Some people were skeptical of us releasing a song about dancing and getting drunk because they felt like it made us ‘less believable feminists’, but that is kind of the whole point of this song,” vocalist Haley Shea explains. “The feminism we have faith in is all about individualism and being free to be yourself regardless of gender. Yes, we believe in equal rights for all genders, but we also like partying and drinking and sometimes we make mistakes, and that’s OK.”
SLØTFACE will be returning to the UK in September and October for a series of London dates, as well as heading to Glasgow and Manchester in early November.
