Submitted: “A group of active musicians and supporters of the South West punk music scene are going to be putting on a number of benefit events in support of, Amnesty International, Medecins Sans Frontiers and War Child. The decision to organise these events was taken after a lot of discussion about the rights and wrongs of the recent war in Iraq. With different opinions emerging one thing was for certain and that was that most people regardless of their views wanted to make some kind of positive contribution to raise awareness and much needed funds for the organisations we have chosen to support. Events so far confirmed are being held at The Croft in Bristol on the 14th January with Mr Zippy, 2-Day Rule, Hacksaw, Fruit of the Doom and Idle Tuesday and at the Porter Butt in Bath on 27th February with Kenisia, The Setbacks and Paydirt. Hopefully more shows will be added soon. Go to www.swpunx.co.uk for further details.”
